Suzani - from the Persian word suzan, meaning needle - is a centuries-old Central Asian embroidery tradition, lovingly adapted in India with a distinctly local soul. While classic Suzanis carry motifs like pomegranates and tulips, the Indian rendition blooms with peacocks, elephants, and lotus flowers, primarily handcrafted by artisans in Rajasthan.
Each piece is hand-embroidered using fine silk or cotton threads on sturdy cotton, linen, or canvas bases, with chain stitch, satin stitch, and couching work creating rich, raised textures. Bold colours and natural dyes bring every cushion to life - making Suzani a favourite for bohemian and maximalist interiors alike.

Wash Care: Dry clean recommended to preserve embroidery threads and natural dyes. If hand-washing, use cold water with a mild detergent; avoid soaking. Do not wring or twist - gently press out excess water. Air dry in shade, away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading. Iron on reverse side, on low heat, avoiding direct contact with embroidered areas. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or fabric softeners. Store in a cool, dry place; refold occasionally to prevent permanent crease lines on embroidery.
